Residual Bequest+

A residual bequest comes to us after your estate expenses and specific bequests are paid:
I give and devise to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas, located in Dallas, Texas, all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its unrestricted use (or for the support of a specific fund or ministry).

Specific Bequest+

Naming the Diocese of Dallas as a beneficiary of a specific amount from your estate is easy:
I hereby give, devise and bequeath _________ and No/100 dollars ($DOLLARS) to The Catholic Foundation, a qualified charitable organization located at 12222 Merit Drive, Suite 850, Dallas, TX 75251, Federal Tax ID #75-1106620 for the benefit of the Diocese of Dallas Endowment Fund or the Diocese of Dallas Designated Fund, to be held by The Catholic Foundation in perpetuity, not in trust but in fee simple, with the reasonable spending policy amount to be available, in the sole discretion of The Catholic Foundation for the support of Catholic Diocese of Dallas located at 3725 Blackburn Street, Dallas, TX 75219.

Contingent Bequest+

The Catholic Diocese of Dallas can be named as a contingent beneficiary in your will or personal trust if one or more of your specific bequests cannot be fulfilled:
If (insert name) is not living at the time of my demise, I give and devise to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas, the sum of $ (or all or a percentage of the residue of my estate) to be used for its unrestricted use (or for the support of or a specific fund or ministry).

Retirement Plan+

You may name the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement benefits. To make a charitable gift from your retirement plan, simply enter the “Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas_FBO its Endowment Fund” and Federal Tax ID #75-0800637 on the Change of Beneficiary Form available from your plan administrator. Consult with your advisor to determine the benefits you would derive from such a gift.

Additional language for your consideration that our attorneys suggest: In the event the Diocese is no longer in existence, then the monies, assets and properties given herein shall be delivered for the same purposes to the administrator, or the successor Bishop whose diocese will include the territory formerly known as the Diocese, in accordance with the prescripts of Canon Law.
